Dundalk is the principal administrative centre in the North East Coast. Within a 30 mile radius there is a population of 428,000. A 50 mile radius brings in Ireland’s two main cities, Dublin and Belfast, increasing the catchment to in excess of 3 million. With Dundalk’s increasing status as an easily accessible commuter zone, this proximity is core to the area’s popularity.

Dundalk is located on the M1/N1 National Primary Route equidistant between the two cities. An excellent inter-city rail network also serves it. Dundalk is very advantageously positioned in relation to international airports, which are located to the north of Dublin (Dublin International Airport is 40 minutes’ drive away) and the south of Belfast (Belfast International Airport is 1 hour away)

Dundalk has been identified as a Gateway Centre for Development under the Irish Government’s National Spatial Strategy. This positions Dundalk as a primary centre of growth, alongside the four cities of Ireland outside Dublin. Together with its excellent infrastructure and strategic position along the North-South corridor, the Dundalk area has an abundance of skilled labour and a pool of well-educated and eager young people, supported by the ongoing development of Dundalk Institute of Technology, whose population currently exceeds 5,500.

As a place to live, Dundalk offers all the amenities that a family or couple or individual would desire. In addition to the town’s thriving retail climate, Dundalk also offers a full spectrum of leisure options, from the outdoor pursuits of nearby Carlingford and several outstanding golf courses, to the entertainment of greyhound racing, bowling, culinary classes, to the full range of sports pursuits and, of course, a selection of bars and restaurants to suit all tastes.
